This Place Based Learning assignment I did for my EDSO class gave me the opportunity to research and plan a field trip to connect to the land. The focus of my assignment was on the Residential School located in Kamloops, British Columbia. The field trip to the residential school was designed for the grade 5 curriculum but could be adapted for any grade level. As I am not originally from Kamloops, this assignment was a great chance for me to get to know the history and culture of this place I now call home. I had to carefully take in the safety and mental health considerations of this field trip and the activities that go with it.
